All Australian doctors now need a "CPD Home" - where's yours?

The recently released Professional Performance Framework produced by the Medical Board of Australia has detailed impending changes to the registration requirements for all Australian Doctors.

One of the 5 pillars of the framework relates to Strengthening of Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

The changes to CPD (also known as Continuing Medical Education or CME) will have the most impact on Junior Doctors, Career Medical Officers and a range of senior doctors not covered by traditional college programs.

All doctors will be required to have a CPD Home and participate in its program, based on the development of a personal professional development plan.

The new framework has set parameters around CPD too.  In addition to traditional educational activities, CPD will be required to contain a mix of performance review / audit and outcome measurement.

So if you're a junior doctor, or a CMO, what options do you have?

Right now, other than Osler, there are very few.  That's why we're working hard with the AMC and Medical Board to ensure you have a CPD Home now and into the future.
